Call for Papers

NAG Public Libraries Forum: Manchester 21st November 2019

Working with partners for the benefit of your community

Have you recently completed a project working with partners to provide a new or improved service for your community?  Or are you in the planning stages for a new idea next year?

Whether it was successful, or whether it provided lessons for all of us to learn, the NAG community are interested to hear about your experiences so why not come and discuss it with your colleagues from public libraries around the country in Manchester this autumn?
NAG Forum events are informal discussion days with a range of lightning talks and longer papers with plenty of time for group discussion following each presentation.
Feedback from previous forum events has confirmed that the opportunity to network with other professionals from across the country is the most valued part of the day.  The events provide a friendly, supportive atmosphere where people feel confident they can speak freely amongst their peers.
The application process is easy; just email us a short (less than 500 words) abstract of your talk, a short biography and whether you would prefer a 15 minute or 30 minute slot (or if you would like to propose a longer workshop style session) to nag.office@nag.org.uk  by 31st August 2019.

In times of budget cuts, we recognise how important it is to keep these events affordable to enable delegates from public libraries to attend.  Therefore, the Forum will be offered at cost price, £35, for Members for a full day including hot buffet lunch.  Non-members are asked to pay £50 but everyone is encouraged to consider joining and NAG membership for public libraries has been discounted to just £75 this year.
Speakers at NAG events are always offered a free place and travel expenses; no one should be excluded from speaking for financial reasons.  Please contact us if you need further support.  Current NAG membership is not required to be a speaker at our events.
