March 30, 2020
In the light of Covid-19, NAG Executive Committee have now taken the difficult, yet now inevitable, decision to cancel all our 2020 events. Given the massive impact of the shutdown even a November event did not seem viable for our Members. We will return in 2021 with our events; dates and locations to be announced. NAG would like to thank our 2020 sponsors for their support, most of whom have immediately agreed to transfer their commitment to 2021 providing peace of mind and reducing the workload at this stressful time.
We are working on adding content to our “Learn” webpages to benefit our Members whilst working remotely. This will mainly be achieved by commissioning freelance professionals which will also support them in these challenging times. We will also add details of external online training to our Combined Library Events online calendar.
Our journal, Taking Stock, will be produced very shortly and is now available online to all Members. This edition of Taking Stock includes reports from our November seminars and will hopefully provide some useful CPD at this time.
Please could all Members help us by logging into the NAG website and confirming their delivery address and whether you would like us to hold your print copy until reopening. You can enter a temporary delivery address as an alternative but please remember to change it back when you reopen!
Just go to the Membership menu above, across to Login and then enter your email address. There is a “forgot your password” link if you need to reset. All of the members of a Team at a library can set the delivery address – it is not restricted to the Team Leader. This is a great time to check we have the correct invoice address details for you too. If you need any help, please do get in touch and we would be happy to reset your account or change the details for you.
We are keen to support our Members in any way we can; please get in touch with any suggestions, questions or requests.
If you are looking for information on how publishers have responded to make resources available during Covid-19, we highly recommend this document from our NAG Treasurer, Anthony Sinnott. In addition, if you are encountering resources which are you are unable to provide digitally for your users, please fill in the JISC form at:

This will enable JISC to lobby the appropriate vendors and publishers on behalf of the wider library sector.
For public libraries we have listed some vendor special offers and free access options here.
