Sam Gill is Liaison Librarian for Histories, Languages and Cultures at the University of Liverpool. In a previous role he was part of the library’s Wider Reading Team, which during the COVID-19 pandemic shaped the Leisure Reading and Wellbeing collections using OverDrive.

James Rice is Principal Library Assistant at the University of Liverpool. He is an ex-bookseller and published novelist, and also lectures in Creative Writing at several institutions. He is a member of the Wider Reading Team at the University of Liverpool and is one of the staff who curates and manages their OverDrive account.

Sam will talk about the formation of the Overdrive collections, touching on UoL’s previous digital offerings and how the Leisure Reading side has grown at University of Liverpool via in-house promotion and collaboration between several teams.

James will demonstrate the impact of the collection by showing usage figures and talk about the plans for the future of the project.

Paul Davighi from OverDrive will also give a very short introduction to the product and its use in UK academic libraries.

All will be available to answer questions at the end of the session.

This webinar is FREE and open to everyone; the recording will be available for all NAG Members in our “Learn” section.
