We have received a number of enquiries about weeding recently and the best way to tackle it without creating conflict. Several people also asked “are you manually weeding eBooks?”

Have recently begun to weed some ebooks. We are using similar criteria for e and print which is documented in our collection development policy. Taken a slow approach – its at the liaison librarian request and typically is those older edns in business, nursing, law and medicine, where we have weeded the print, but the e remains. That students could be accessing out of date information when we have the newer ebook is a concern. We have implemented a process to identify these in Alma using a note before deletion and an analytics report, so if needed we could retrieve or count what has been weeded.
