The NAG Public Library Project of the Year 2025 has been won by Leeds Libraries for their “Walking Books” project. This will enable the creation of a new eAudio collection of short stories and poetry specially chosen to accompany a walk in the park for both adults and children. The BorrowBox titles will be accessed via QR codes across Leeds parks and supported with promotional events over the summer reaching new users outside the library walls.
This project scored highly right across the board for value for money, long term sustainability, innovation and replicability making it the Grant winner for 2025 with £5,000 being awarded.
Dawn Stanley-Donaghy at Leeds Libraries said: “We were thrilled to receive the grant for our project Walking Books. We are hoping to go live with the project very soon and will share how far Walking Books travelled next year”
In addition to the Public Libraries Grant, Leeds Libraries also won NAG’s 2025 Award for Excellence with their Stock Team’s ongoing work to diversify adult stock provision making a double win for Leeds this year!
